How to Make a Baby is a participatory computer theater performance set in 2036. Prop 43 wants the childfree taxed to fund elder care, and a visionary founder arrives with a solution, hidden motives, and an invitation for everyone - including the audience. Nobody watches from outside the play: the room votes, argues, and signs on, and the outcome is co-created with whoever showed up. It premiered at tiat in San Francisco on July 25, 2026.
On August 11, 2026 the piece came back to tiat: a re-performance with the poet Ana María Caballero, staged as part of Techno Retro Poetics, an evening of analog and multimedia readings the two of us shared. The founder's pitch lands differently when a second voice is in the room to answer it.
